My Test of Global Translator Plugin in My WordPress Blog- Uber Designer
I started this blog, few months ago as an experiment in WordPress, with the How to Add a New Theme to Your WordPress Installation. Since then, I have been posting and sharing my favorite hand-picked links, that I have found on the Internet. Of course, I do have been observing the blog statistics, and I noticed that until now I have been getting more traffic in the free stuff, for example this month in the links below:
750+ Free Icons in 49 Icon Packages from devianArt
20 Amazing Black and White Photography
80 Free Background Patterns for Your Graphic and Web Designs
People always have loved free stuff, and in this blog you can find awesome links for that.
For now, I’m testing Global Translator – a translator plugin that uses four different translation engines: Google Translation Engine, Babel Fish, Prompt, and Free Translations, and translates your blog in 41 languages. I choose to translate this blog in Italian, Portuguese, German, French, and Spanish. Sorry Brazilians, I could not find the Brazilian flag on the plugin, but I do have the Portugal one.
In Mozilla Firefox browser, in the Home page, click in the article you want to read. In the article page click on the flag on the lateral bar. Please be patient, it will take a little time until the url becomes: http://uberdesigner.com/pt/title-of-the-article/ Being the pt letters in bold the reference for the translated language, in this case: portuguese. Yep!…Unfortunately the menu messed up a little bit. Don’t worry for now, this task goes for the To Do List, I still don’t know what is causing this problem.

If you favor Internet Explorer 8 right click on your mouse, you’ll bring a menu, go down and mouse over “Translate With Live Search”, find your language in the dropdown menu, click “translate this page” and Voilá…Mouse over text to see translation. Check the result below!

If for some reason you are interested in learning other language, what I would recomend - just because of the globalization, maybe you should try:
Learn 10 – Power up your learning
Radio Lingua Network – Learn a language anywhere, any time
Mango Languages – the easiest way to learn a foreign language
or you can find a teachmate at:
Teachmate – a service that helps people who wish to learn things find others who wish to teach them.
You still have the option to start a blog and write in other language, like myself. For some reasons I decided to use the English version of WordPres, if you are curious you can check our About page, at least to know what are my intentions here at this blog.
I’d like to thank those amazing uber designers that make this sharing blog possible with all this information, and deeply thank Function Web Design & Development blog for the incoming link – Illustration – 40 Free Twitter Graphics, Icons, Badges and Buttons. These guys rock and really make the web a better place!
After a hiatus, I re-started to post my daily links, and hopefully I will write a weekly article about my learning, findings and thoughts. Stay tuned!
Things to come…among others:
- Adding My First WordPress Plugins
- Google AdSense and Affiliate Programs
